Hey guys,

This morning I loaded a few 208 A Max bullets in 300 RUM cases, for a Win 70 with a mag. box which only allows 3.610 COL.

As much bullet is in the case as is out of the case!! Makes me wonder if 180s might be better......

The load is:
Rem brass
Hornady 208 A Max @ 3.610 COL
Fed 215
96.0/Retumbo

Only loaded three rounds for testing for feed and pressure signs.....

What say you??

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, my first experience shooting the 200 grain Wildcats in a 7mm RUM were the same experience you find yourself in. The base of the bullets were well beyond the shoulder/body junction and they still shot very well. I even shot my all time best 1K groups that way.

Best thing to do is to give it a try, you might be surprised.

300SAUM,
Re the long mag box:

It's in the plan, just don't have it done yet. I wanted to shoot the rifle as is before the mods are done.

Does 96.0/Retumbo sound resonable?

Thanks,
Jim
