My Sendero 7rm loves Amax but had bad performance with them in 300win on whitetail. I have two great loads worked up with vld targets. Will load development start over again with vld hunting in anyone else's experience? 2013-02-22 22.39.06.jpg

My experience with 7mm , 300 Berger VLDs of the same weight, the target and hunting VLDs shoot the same. The jacket thickness is slight and point of impact is not effected. I also have found this true with the 300 gr 338 Hybrids in OTM's and Elite Hunters.

Thanks I've tried 4 different powders with 154gr interbond with miserably horrible results .so today I ordered 168 vld hunting.

why the F would 4 different bullets drive tacks and interbonds fail so badly in the same barrel?

Great shooting! Just for comparison's sake, i am running the 162 amax in my 26" barreled 284 win with 52.8 grains of H4350 at what i believe to be around 2860 fps (52.2 grains went 2835 as verified by an Oehler and magnetospeed). This will be my 1k deer rifle, and i have no problems slipping one into the ribs of a deer at close range.

Barnsuser. I was running 178gr amaxs at 3075fps at my 500yrd field. The buck comes out at 90yrds. The shot stunned him and he had to get 2nd shot . It appeared that the first bullet ice pickd him straight through but the second liquified his entire cavity.
