Caleb, Welcome to LRH and the exciting world of reloading. I started years ago to make shooting affordable. If you enjoy it as much as I do, it's everything but affordable! The more you reload the more you will shoot, the more you shoot the better a shot you become. For your .308 I'd load either the 168 or 175gn. There are some excellent bullets in this range and they shoot good out to 800yds. As for powders, the guys I shoot with use IMR4064 and Varget. There are plenty of powders out there that will work with the .308. I would probably experiment with the Hodgdon and IMR varieties of 4350 and 4831, Viht N150 and RL15. Years ago when I owned a .308 I shot 150gn Ballistic Tips with 43.0gns of IMR3031. Your .22-250 is a 1-14" twist. Anything from 40 - 55gns should shoot wonderfully. I loved the 40's for crows but the Sierra 52gn MK was superior for accuracy. The crow's couldn't tell the difference! IMR4895 was my go to powder with Varget in #2 position. Both calibers are capable of terrific accuracy. I used CCI BR2's for both calibers. IMR4831 is probably too slow for the .22-250 and H1000 is too slow for both, IMO. :) JohnnyK.
