Heading to Vegas for a work convention this weekend. Are there any places worth visiting in regards to hunting, shooting or the outdoors?

I would love to go out in the desert to glass for desert sheep but I think that idea would be a little far fetched...

Go check out the **** dam. The hills in that direction are home to plenty of sheep. Red Rock and Valley of Fire are also cool places to look at.

My friend who is a shooter and not a hunter took a two day class at some defense shooting school near Vegas when he was there. Not sure if it was Gunsite Institute or who, but he had a blast. He likes to buy and shoot shiny chrome pistols.

South of the Hoover Dam, Desert Bighorns are right along the road. My wife and I saw several, including a couple of dandy rams up close and personal.
