This was a post posted to my local armslist board.

True i don't know but i definitely wouldnt put it past them.

. THERE ARE FEDS POSING AS BUYERS who contact you and make arrangements to buy your AR or lower receiver, then when they meet up will look it over and find some trivial detail that they say is a deal breaker, and with great apology they back out without buying. They never intended to buy it they are just keeping tabs on who has what. The person who contacted me got me mixed up with other buyers and it was obvious he was checking out a list of people.

That's sad......But even more sad, is that it's not surprising.

Just b/c someone owns an AR doesn't make them a bad person. But the gov't sure thinks so... B/c they're "scary and evil looking" guns.

Well i definitely wouldn't put it past them the government is so corrupted and it is sad this is what it has come to...

But they are going to push until they have a civil war. They don't know when to quit..

Hey im with ya... when i close my eyes also everything seems to be peaches and cream with the government and everything is okay!

They wont try to take my guns... They wont try to take my guns.... They wont try to take my guns...

Hmm when i open them they are still trying to take my guns....

My two cents on that one....

We live in a society that blames Wayne La Pierre and the NRA for what Adam Lanza and James Holmes did. A society where women kill more children at planned parenthood in one year than guns do in a lifetime. A society that imports millions of immigrants and promises them welfare if they vote for a democrat. Notice Obama never said anything about gun control until after he was elected. BE SURE TO CONTACT YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES and tell them how you feel, bold talk at the coffee shop is useless. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT ACT LIKE A RACIST LUNATIC it is counter productive.

A president who says "we dont have a spending problem" will lie about other things.

+1+1+1+1 i like this guy!!

I dont know about this , but I have given it alot of thought concerning Gun shows I figure they will be alote of under cover ATF or FEDS posing as byers/sellers and or traders.

Again this is not from this board its from armslist.com

For those of you who dont know what armslist is it is the Craigslist for guns...

This is practically a year long gun show no paperwork required on almost every gun on here....

My work involves helping government employees understand their benefits and to better prepare for retirement. As such, I have many clients that work for the FBI, BATFE, DEA, etc. These guys are stretched so thin and are so totally focussed on major crimes, I can almost guarantee you that they are not out "en mass" trying to develop lists of AR-15 owners. It makes no sense. First of all, they don't have the time or resources to devote to this. Secondly, if they really want to know, all they have to do is go onto these forums and see who is writing what about AR-15s. Threads like For Sale, Gun Porn, Tactical, etc. give them all they need to know. Matching up a screen name with the person behind it is a piece of cake for them. I have no doubt that this incident referenced above occurred. But I also suspect it was isolated and not part of a wide dragnet. Just my two cents from talking with all these field agents.

Interesting thank you for posting. Like i said in the beginning of this thread this was not me i just simply seen it posted on armslist and decided to spread the word..

Maybe if the federal government didn't waste time with legitimate owners they could do some real work like protecting the borders from illegal immigrants or not selling guns to mexican drug cartels.
