Im having a dilemma on what to do. I have a Sako L691 in 25-06 AI and a Browning A-Bolt in .300 WSM. What I am thinking of doing is making a custom rifle from one of these actions.
I really want to use the Sako action and chamber it in .300 WSM so I can seat the bullets out long. With this option I can use 110 V-Max for varmints and 180gn ABs for Deer.
I would put on a 25.5" stainless fluted barrel and a Holland brake.
It would have to be under 10lbs with scope, say 9 lbs if possible.
What do you think? Would the muzzle brake reduce a 110gn load down to .243 recoil levels?
What would you do?
Shots at 600m max.
How much would a barrel and brake cost and a stock to suit?

cheers

The only question that I feel comfortable responding to is the recoil and a brake.

With a Holland QD or a Defensive Edge brake the recoil of the 180 AB would be on the order of the 243 w/100gr bullets @ 3000 fps.
