I think I 've gone too slow...

So, in order to complete my range of powder inventory I have added VV 24n41, slowest powder I own. Looking around for load data I'm beginning to see that 24n41 may be too slow for anything I shoot. The highest capacity cartridge I own is a 7mm STW (although I do have a larger case in my 9.3/375 flanged which uses faster powders). My other slow powders are Rel25 and IMR7828.
Have I shot myself in the foot buying this powder?

I think that it will work for the heaviest bullets in the stw. Alliant has reloading data for rl33 with 175gr projectiles, and its right beside the 24n41 on burn rate.

I have not tried it myself, but I think it would work well with bullet sin the 168 to 195 range.

I played with it in Quickload using my known 7RM parameters. Its slower than N570, which yields the best velocity per QL for 175g. But with heavies in the STW, I would think it might be fine. The N570 is very coarse. Not sure I can get it into 7RM. Dunno about the 24n41 in terms of stick size.

Did you shoot yourself in the foot?, I don't think so. It may not work for you now, but who knows what you may need in the future or what advancement in cartridges will be next

24n41 too, is very coarse in pics on VV's website. I hadn't planned to go beyond 180 bullets but now maybe with this slow a powder, I just might try them!

No, I use H50BMG in many cases that it is not thought to work, but it simply does with heavies. Like 195's in 7STW, 230's in 300WM, 300Bee and 300RUM. So, I think that if you use GRT or Quickload, you'll be able to get reliable data to use. I even found a load suitable with 156g Berger in my custom 264WM, US869 was useful in it too.
24N41 is not much slower than H50BMG, should be useful…

To get best results, you need to 'swirl' the powder in to stop it being loose, it will drop well below a normally poured powder and the 'packing scheme' of the case will like it and get much nicer uniform results. I won't go into how I discovered this, but SEE (Secondary Explosion Effect) was a very real proposition for me back in the day…
