I survived my Alaska Bear Hunt Trip

Good job Gamedog,

The photos really helped tell you story, good job on the photo placement within the story. I actually felt like I just got to go back to Alaska, except my feet feel much better this time.:)

Nice pics and story. Those pics are classic Alaska terrain along an ocean front stream. Looks very similar to several differnt rivers I've hiked up during spring breakup in the past. Thanks for taking the time to share and congrats on a great bear.

Great story and wonderful pics. Pics can really make a story SO MUCH MORE interesting. Reminds me of my Grizzly hunt Sept 2008 where I ended up shooting a 62" bull moose @ 15 yds with my Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt.

I'll bet you buddy has nightmares about not taking that long shot when the opportunity was available.

Boys , bloody well done from Australia where the only thing that wont bite you is a Bear , this story and images were fantastic to read and view , I could only imagine how wonderful it would be to be in your place there and live that experience..........all power to you for doing what I know would have been a lot of work to organise and bring to life.
Thank you for sharing I loved it.

I grabbed the 10mm and looked outside the tent to a black bear helping himself to the water we boiled our dogs in .

Gonna guess a 10mm is a big *** pistol?

Also what you using here in this picture? mainly the stock and colour/finish

Great pics and lots of them which is nice for someone like myself who's never been to Alaska. Nice shooting and a good story. Thanks for giving so much of your time to post all the pics and the write up.

+1 WITH EVERYTHING CHAS1 SAID. Very cool. Congrats on the big-n-fuzzies!

congratulations!!
did you mention where this was?
what was your load?
sounds like a great hunt.

remember, if you are in alaska, you are in bear country--even in the cities. it's all wilderness, just some of it is unreclaimed.

there are some areas that no one with any brains will venture into even with artillery and an airforce escort.
