I’m 43 pretty quick here, 6’1” and push 300 now. Still hit the gym 4-5 days a week, but I will never have the cardio of my 20’s. I worked in foresty, laid out forestry roads and cutblocks for 10 years, hiked 5-6 miles a day with 25-30 pounds in a vest. Back then I was 250-255 pounds. Packing an elk was nothing, now just loading one in the truck needs a 2 day recovery. These days I push a pencil in middle management for a forest company, and have the management tire that stretches the shirt.. This year I got a moose on opening morning, only had to pack it 30-40 yards, I rested for day after, mostly cause it hurt to move. Helped the mrs move her storage room at the coffee shop, moved a couple freezers and a safe. Packed a freezer up the stairs at home. The next day doing dumbbell rows at the gym I herniated a disk and dislocated my pelvis. Feel pretty old now. I would get the usual stiffness and aches before, all the things I broke dirtbiking in my teens aches. But the back seems like a real show stopper, hopefully I can get it to heal right.
