I picked up a box of Hornady's 178 amax's to try in my 308 the other day and noticed a note to use in rifles w/ 1-10 twist. I shot a couple test loads with varget and they seemed to do fine in my 1-12 schneider barrel. Granted I only tryed them at 100 yards. I did not chrono them but velocity was probably in the 2700 range. Has anyone had any stabilization problems with this bullet in twists slower than 1-10 at 308 velocities? If you have or have not would you include the altitude and temp where you were doing your testing. I am in Fl and it seems we can get away with longer heavier bullets for our twists than what I read about in other parts of the country. We have several (308's), with 1-12 and 1-14 twist barrels. Here we're about 25' above sea level and a average temp for most of our shooting is probably 75-85 degrees. Whats your take? Joey S aka 308
