With large pellets from BB - #4 Buck where do you guys shoot for? HEAD OR BODY?
Chest - just behind the shoulder. Same hold as with rifle. After 50 yards I don't think it makes much difference. Plus I'm only shooting a 2 3/4" shell.
Body. It's more center of the target than the head so as to maximize shot spread.
From the few I've seen shot on video I couldn't really tell. The old timers I know used to always shoot deer in the head with 00buck but I wasn't 100% with the smaller pellets.
Sounds like you get them in close. Why only 2 3/4" ? Most work well for you. Good hunting.
I only use the 2 3/4" also. I don't aim for either the head or the body, I pick a very small spot, like the corner of the eye or the corner of the mouth or the nose, but always at the head region. It only takes one pellet to do the job. I also tend to double tap unless they're right on top of me.
