Guy across the highway from my farm got tired of the damage and put out two traps. He caught 32 hogs last week, in one night! He is across a paved highway. So far what I have been told seems to be holding true, they do not like to cross a paved highway with a lot of traffic.
I have just found one on my place, last summer, and it did not make it home. That was a 55gr 223 at 3,200 fps at 8:00 AM on Sunday morning. Hated to do that to the neighbors, but no wild hog was going to leave my place once I saw it. So I decided to get quiet for the next piggy pok-ya.
Now I have my 6.5 Grendel mit can and the 160s at sub sonic ready to go pop, pop. Alas I have no piggy to pop. But just as well, because when it starts I am sure I will want it all to stop. Especially if the guy caught 32 in one night. That is ridiculous.
