[QUOTE="Dano1, post: 249648, member: 14209"] I'd probably use magnum primers if I was loading H4831 or slower in a -06 class/ size of case. Here in Idaho, you can't be sure what the temperature will be. Even this year's Deer season had strange weather. Opening week I was hunting in a foot of snow in October. I try to make my hunting loads as foo proof as possible. I also use Magnum primers when I load using ball/ spherical powder like H414 even in my .243 Win and .243 Ackleys that I have. I actually use CCI-BR2 Benchrest primers in my .30-06 AI. I'm Loading H4350 in it and it does quite well. Even in cold weather, it ignites quite well. Mike, What twist does your .280 AI bbl have. I have a Rem 700 Sendero in a 7mm Rem Mag that I can't get to shoot those 162g A-max bullets. It has a 1-9" Twist. I've tried H4831SC and IMR7828 so far and It won't group under an inch at 100yds. It'll shoot 150g Ballistic Tips and 150g Gamekings under 1/2" all day long, but not the A-max. I may give those Bergers a shot this summer. I've had a lot of luck with them In my .30-06 AI.
