Well maybe Im the only one who thinks this is awsome but I was out with my 2 year old (3 in july) today and he is turning into quite the little outdoor enthusiast. This kid always wants to be outside rain, snow, cold it doesnt matter he wants to be out there and of course never wants to wear his jacket either. I gave him his own little binos and an old rangefinder (using in Pic) and he layed there for 10 minutes. He was pointing out all the deer that I couldn't see  So looks like I got my new hunting partner, he sits still about as long as Dad does in the woods anyway. Well I feel gratefull for having such a wonderfull kid just thought I would share. :D

Yeah they are his favorite! He's gonna cry when I say he cant wear them hunting, the lights in them will scare all the deer away on the hike to the lookouts in the wee hours of the morning :D

Another meat packer is born. If he gets in to it like mine did he will run you ragged but you will be smiling the whole time. You're in for a lot of fun guaranteed! Kids shine a whole nother light on the hunting sport.

I'm sure enjoying mine, can't think of anything better than being a dad!! My daughter spots all the big one's, in the middle of the range, with the bino's backwards. Gotta love the little buggers :D:D

I remember when my nephew was about seven years old and he asked when he could go hunt with me. I told him pretty soon, but that he would have to be able to sit still.

My brother came home from work one day to find his son sitting in his homemade treestand in the front yard. Brother asked what he was doing and he replied "practicing sitting still"

He has hunted with me every year since he was nine. Now he's 16...

Many things change over time, but hunting is as old as time itself. It's part of our genetic makeup and I feel sorry for those who miss out on the opportunity to connect with nature, with future generations, with our ancestors, and with the great creator. There is no greater pleasure.

    Thanks for sharing!

Too cool, Pryoducks! Mine is sixteen, 6'3" and outshooting me. Makes you proud but hurts a little too (at least the outshooting part!) Congrats too you on getting the boy out there. A good hunting partner in the making!

That is awesome. I have a 3yr old little girl that is the same. I think it is the best thing in the world is getting the oportunity to spend that quality time with the little ones in the woods

    Thanks for sharing

i can't tell you how much i enjoy it ,when my oldest(14) asks me.when are we going back to the lease or to the shooting range again.it also helps that there are other kids at the lease around the same age for him to hang around with at camp.my oldest likes to talk smack, when he makes a better shot or catches a bigger fish and i LOVE every minute of it.

I love it! That reminds me of when I took my oldest son with me for the first time. We were sitting in a two-man ladder stand and he was scanning every inch of the woods with my binos. He said, "Daddy! I see a deer.....Or maybe it is a log." And about five minutes later, "Daddy! I see a buck.....Or maybe it is a stick."

We still use those sayings four years later when we think we see something while scouting.

I would not trade time in the woods with my boys for anything!!
