I just returned from coyote calling with LRH sponsor Tim Titus of No Off Season. I had a great time on the high desert once again. I think we pulled in 12-14 coyotes (I lost track) I got these 2 on the last day. I had a bit of a hole in my swing early on, but found it on day 3. Actually it was more likely divine intervention lining one up one in the crosshairs so well I didn't have to move rifle or sticks. I highly recommend these sessions with Tim, you can really compress learning time and get a feel for what it's supposed to look like. A good opportunity to work out equipment issues in a couple of days instead of several seasons. Really these hunts should work for anyone, a G rated atmosphere, a pace even those with physical issues like myself can keep up with. Tim brings enough enthusiasm for all, we hit the ground running and gunning. I pulled up at his house and within 20 minutes we had a coyote coming in. Tim's motto is "No crowds, no limits, no seasons, and no bad days, and he lives up to it. He also has high volume sage rat shooting, some long range rock chucks (Bob Beck EOL filmed a segment here), and is working out the kinks of CONSISTENT long range coyote opportunity. With big game opportunities limited, and short seasons this is the chance to get more days afield, and I'll be back. Yote's shot with a 6mm Remington, 70 grain Blitzking, probably 3300 fps. If I remember the ranges were 75, and 150 yards. Both mature males, one rabbit fed, the other supplementing with the neighbors cats.
