Fianlly had the time to post some pics. Normally when I leave the camera home nothing shows up to shoot. At any rate, here are some boars that made an appearnace right before dark. These two pigs are numbers 44&45 taken, which are tallied over the last 2 years on this lease.

During deer season, these things tend to get on my nerves, yet when deer season is over and the cyotoes are educated, there are always hog to shoot.

Both were shot with a .30cal 168gr berger's at 3300fps. On the brown hog, while standing broadside, the bullet exited aproximately 10" back from the entrance. I've heard of this much deflection but never seen it first hand, then again it could've been quartered slightly.

More details to follow since the wife says I've got to get off the computer.

    Good goin'

I like the looks of that rifle.

BTW, the leasor should do something about that stand of grain. There's not much hog feed there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As much as we hate them, yougotta admit they are fun to shoot, and the best part is, there is generally a LOT left over for the freezer.

That light one looks like a great candidate for link sausage or just plain ol pit fodder, that dark one though looks a little boarish. Not that they don't eat as well , just sometimes the age and or smell, of them determins whether or not we or the coyotes get them.

    Great shooting, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike - I decided to let the black boar lay, he'll make great cyotoe bait. Although, I've just about ran out of people who want a freezer full of pork.

These things are just too fun to shoot, keeps me looking forward to next weekend.

Speedbump - the rifle is a 300 jarrett, it's for sale if you think you might need one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
