H1000 in the 300H&H

because its borderline to slow for that round. the 300h&h works best with powders like 4350 and 4831 re19 and re22. you probably wont find much data for h1000 in the 250 savage either:D

Case capacity for the H&H, WSM and 308Norma is pretty close and I have found some data on the later two.

My initial, gut feeling was that I wouldn't be able to get enough H1000 in the H&H case to get decent speed, but that wasn't the case. No classic pressure signs, but at some point common sense kicks in!

Anyone tried H-1000 in a 300 H&H with 180 grain bullets?

Data is a little sparse!

The 300 HnH, is a great cartridge, and has a long founded history, but H1000 is TOO slow, even with a compressed load. Probably the best overall powder for the 300 HH, would be IMR 4350, RL19, and maybe even RL17.

this is what my brother is doing with his #1 in 300h@h.... it was in response to another thread(I think it was Lloyd's) about the grand old holland

"70 rl22 on a 180 and a 215, or 72rl19 on a 160-168 with a 215.... Oal is iffy.... Have to check... 3.6 is max, but most are seated at 3.56 or less"

If i were to play with single base here it would be either 4831 or 4530... take your pick on brand.
