Looking to rebarrel. The gun's had a rough life. Years back, I had a gunsmith add open sights. I took the sights off and found he had drilled all the way through and the holes were all boogered up. He was at the end of his years at that time, so his work was suspect (looking back). Also, in between selling our house and buying the one we're in now, we stayed with my mother-in-law for the winter. I had laid my rifle down on some towels after cleaning it good (this was right before kickoff of Super Bowl XLV when my Packer's won, so I was in a hurry) and her scenile cat decided to **** all over the barrel rusting and pitting the full length of the exterior. After finding the holes from the sights, I just decided to go ahead with this. I have to wait until after deer season of course, because I like to have a back-up rifle (I'll be trying out my .338 WM on whitetails after seeing the results on Muleys).
