Has any one had any experience with Guide Gear Optics? I was told about one for about $80.00. 6.5-20x50, includes 5" sunshade and rings. New in box. This is tempting as I am new to this, and not alot of money this time of year. Thought this might help me learn to shoot with disiplin(?), and learn to reach out to 600 or 800 yrds. Or is it going to be another lesson in research.

As much as most shooters are looking for deals, an 80 dollar scope is an 80 dollar scope. Afraid it would be 80 bucks down the drain - you get what you pay for in optics.

Save your money and get a Leupold, Burris, Bushnell type scope and you will be much happier in the long run. Watch for used models, you can save a bunch of money and still get the good optics and warrantee protection. Suggest you keep an eye out at www.swfa.com, lots of good deals there.
