I've both seen and heard gun battles between border patrol and uda's. Black hawk helicopters, snipers, automatic gun fire, etc. Happens all the time yet main stream media doesn't talk about it. A few years back they shut down the entire buenos aires wilderness in AZ which is a huge chunk of real estate. They were flying C-130 Gunships over the area firing down into the desert with every pass while automatic gunfire was being returned from the desert floor. They hauled them out of there by the busloads. In my opinion that's a war. I don't want to turn this into a political debate just sharing my experiences. I am planning on backpacking in on this hunt because it is the only practical way to hunt it. The last deer I killed in there I hiked 9 miles the day I killed my buck and another 7 miles the next day to recover him. Adding an hour a day of driving to and from a hotel room is just not practical. I will also most likely be solo on this hunt. Like I said it's a dangerous game. I really love hunting!!!
