Good rifle rest suggestion

Look at the sinclair or the hart Robert W. Hart and Son Inc. at Robert W. Hart and Son Inc.
Depends on exactly what you want it for also.
for example Sinclair has a new very light (aluminum) rest (04-3110) for Fclass with an all purpose top for $147
The standard sinclair and hart are steel and much heavier.
You can change tops to to different size bags and on the larger hart and sinclairs, you can even go up to the large heavy guns.
I would not consider the Wichita.
You can find used ones on Ebay and in the classifieds on BRcentral.

No plans on being a BR shooter.
Just want fulltime, quality time, available when at the range.
Checking loads, sight-in etc.
Do shoot some larger caliber rifles.
They just seem expensive.
Been primarily shooting from Homegrown sandbags.
Have been looking at the two you suggested and good suggestions I might add.
Should I look closer at some of the nicer shooting rest bags on the market only, or would I really be happier with a good rest, comparision in the long run?

IMO with quality equip you only pay once. Too many times we buy less expensive and are not happy and rebuy better later often spending more money.
the new sinclair Fclass at $147 is quality and will serve you well.

I like the Caldwell Lead Sled for everyday range use. It's probably not the best for tight grouping, because there is only an elevation adjustment on it; you have to scrunch the whole rest around for azimuth, but you can shoot off of it all day without flinching, including the real thumpers. It can also hold a rifle (with the rifle strapped to it) for remote test firing.
With care, it is possible to hold sub 1/2 moa, just slow.
It's the only one I use anymore.

I had a Sinclair and got tired of lugging it around and setting it up plus carrying a couple sand bags for the rear. I sold it to a buddy and got an army surplus 50 cal ammo can. All my sandbags plus my earmuffs and other miscellaneous stuff fits in there plus it has a water tight gasket around the lid. When I get to the range I pull out the sandbags and tip the can on its side and put a sandbag on top for my front rest. works out to be the perfect height and is quite steady. Seems to work well for me. Just a thought.

I purchased a Hi Score Dangrous Game gas dampened rifle rest
a few months ago and could not wait to try it out. It has the
remote trigger activator .
Well it took to long for me to set up for each shot.(to many adjustments)
I'm use to sand bags and to impatient to use all of those adjustments.
So I borrowed my brother's caldwell lead sled and liked it.
It has one adjustment ,Up and down. but was very steady and easy to
use,(much better than sand bags).
So I bought one and to keep it simple I filled the tubes with some lead
shot so I would'nt have to carry sand or shot bags with me. You
dont have to add any weight if you dont want to it weighs 10 to 15lbs
and works well just like it is.
My HI Score rest (used one time )is for sale for $100.oo (cost $189+shipping)
This will pay for my Lead Sled.
So for simplicity and ease of use I would recomend the Lead Sled.

It looks well made and got hi marks in a lot of the hunting magazines
but it's just to busy for me.
I recently completed 2 rifles and tested them on the lead sled I bought
and was very pleased with both the rifles and the rest.
One shot a .255 group with factory amo and the other shot a .031 with
hand loads.
