I'm in to process of bedding my 700 rifle with acuglass. I set the rifle in and tightened the screws. I then untightend the screws and lifted it up a slight bit t remove some excess on the front edges, and then set it back down tightening the screws.

Is this bad? Will it disrupt the release agent?

you dont want to tighten your action down hard. If you do you will be potentially imparting stress into your bedding job. you want to tighten until snug, then back off a 1/4-1/2 turn.

as long as the glass is still plyable you want ruin anything.

its best to leave anything that oozes out and clean it up later. If your used release agent correctly it will be and easy clean up.

Thank you. I just got off the phone with Brownell's. They told me the same thing.

Thanks for pointing out the action screw thing Ill go loosen them up a little.
