ASKED PREVIOUSLY ABOUT A 7MM ULTRA MAG. WOULD THERE BE ANOTHER CALIBER IN JUST A MAG THAT WOULD BE GOOD OUT TO 500 YARDS GIVE OR TAKE MY FATHER HAS A 338 WIN MAG IS THAT A GOOD CALIBER FOR THIS OR IS THERE A FLATTER SHOOTER OUT THERE. FOUND A SPOT WHERE THE DEER HANG OUT AND IT IS BETWEEN 4 AND 6 HUNDRED YARDS FROM MOUNTAIN TO MOUNTAIN. THIS IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE FROM THIS GUN gun)

The 338wm is a fine caliber for that range and target. There are many calibers that will work out to 600 yrds. I am not so sure you have to look at a magnum for this kind of range. A 30-06 loaded correctly would do nicely.

PS. You don't have to yell when you type.:)

Why not a 264 win mag? Plenty flat shooting and a good long range deer caliber.
