I recently purchased a Savage in 7WSM. I have always been a Remington shooter and purchased the Savage for my Dad. He decided he wanted something else so I was stuck with the Savage. Too bad. It shoots 1/2" at 200 yards. What a piece of junk:D. I have a custom Remington 700 in 300 win mag that won't shoot that good. Fancy stock, fluted barrel by Hart, Jewell trigger, pillar bedded. I took the Savage out of the box. Loaded some 168 gr Berger VLD's with H4831sc to sight it in and it shot a dime group at 200 yards. Makes my wonder why I spent the money on the 300 mag. Cool thing about the Savage is if you don't like the caliber buy a new barrel and a go gauge and screw a new tube on yourself in less than an hour you will be out shooting.
