I love it when this happens. Outta nowhere an almost perfect group shows up totally uncharacteristic of this factory Remington 700 ADL with lots of rounds down the tube over the last 28 or so years. Lobbing 208g AMAXs over h4350 looking for pressure. Velocities were much lower than anticipated and never got to pressure. lightbulb Time to load some more.

Group was from 200yds, 3 shots. .532" turns out to be .107 minutes center to center! I thought that particular charge was odd when I glanced at the target with 10 different little orange targets stuck to it. I didn't see any bullet holes there at first. A little closer inspection revealed all 3 almost dead center in cloverleaf formation touching. That was cool, Merry Christmas to me!

I know it was a fluke, but I thought you guys would enjoy, and have a story or two to share. :D

Congratulations, it's always a good feeling to get a group like that. Even if it is only a once or twice in the life of the gun type of thing.

Happy Holidays. You must've done something right!:)

Sorry guys! I put the caliber in my Facebook post. It was my 30-06 with cheap Simmons scope. The powder charges were light using h4350. That load was 52g and in the 2400fps range, hence "lobbing". For some reason I was thinking 50-53g would put me up over 2600 but 2570 was the fastest I had loaded and it was 53.5g. That load showed promise too, but I only had 2 loaded, though they're almost touching.

darn Joseph, good shooting! That might not be much of a fluke for you though!

Its sweet when it happens alright. I had a T3 7mm08 that would pop them out every now and then, these where at 100 m with a 120 vmax.
