I just came back from vacation in south padre. Tuesday we had a run in with a shrimp boat while fishing with the charter boat dock holiday. We had been trolling for tuna and where having some good luck. The captain stopped the boat and we began catching them right out the back of the boat. 20 Minutes into this we got slammed broadside by shrimp boat. It was scary we all came out without a scratch but the boat suffered alot of damage. The steering was out along with the engines. The coast guard had to come out and tow us in. They were very professional about their job along with the captain and the crew of the charter boat.

its very fortunate no one was seriously injured. except the old bertram of coarse which no doubt could be a total loss.
they were probably off loading their bycatch and thats why you and the tuna were there?
if so somebody on your boat should have been paying very close attention.
your captain could well be in jeapordy over this.

There was no one at the helm of your vessel? There was no one on watch? Nobody saw the inbound vessel?

Big Jakes,
Welcome to LRH forums! :)

I'm glad to hear that you didn't get hurt and made it back to shore in good shape.
