Just finished the break-in today on my first custom build; man is it cold to do that right now. Intended for it to be a "short-long-range" (heavy sporter) weight rifle. Build by GA Precision here in Kansas City. Chambered in 30-06. 1:10 Bartlein #3 barrel. H-S Precision Sporter stock and Badger bottom metal.
Shot 15 shells today all on a cold clean barrel. Shot cheapo Federal 3006B 180gr softpoints. Shot 3-5 shot groups. All were sub MOA smallest .51" @ 100, largest .74 @ 100. Can't wait to try some reloads and premium ammo.
Think I will put a VX-3 4.5-14x40mm Long Range with a custom dial once I decide on my preferred load.
This is fun stuff. Exciting to see a rifle shoot like this this early on.
