I'm thinking about rebarreling my 300 win mag it is a rem 700 5r. It shoots great now and I have 300 rds of rws brass coming. I am going to use 100 for this barrel and save 200 for the next. I am going to most likely put it in a bell and carlson A-5 stock and add a rifle basix trigger all this one at a time you know kind of a slow upgrading project but i figure by this time next year the barrel will be approaching worn out. I live 10 minutes from the rifle range i go to and i am there often. So my question is where do you order these barrels do you just get it shipped to your house then take it all to a smith and have it assembled or let the smith order all of it. What is some good brands, lengths, twists, any info would be appreciated. I will most likely be shooting 210 bergers the gun will see some hunting and a lot of target shooting. I have access to a place where I can shoot out to 1000yd thats the reason for the 210,s. I also have same rifle in 308 that i may do the same too but possibly have it rechambered, when i do maybe 300 short mag, if that can be done. any info opinions or help would be greatly appreciated. I have time and won't be doing this tomorrow or anything just getting some info ahead of time. thanks
