I finally got my gun put together this weekend and I took out for a test run Sunday morning.

These are the first rounds that have been shot through this barrel.
Here are the details

6.5-284 Switch barrel
Rem 700 Action- Trued
Benchmark Barrel/ Lilja #8 contour 1/8.5 twist/ 28.5"
Holland Lug/Pinned
Rifle Basix Trigger- ERV3-k / 1lb
HS Precision Stock/ Free floated, not bedded
Mueller Tactical 4-16x50 scope
Badger 20moa Rail
Scope Mount holes welded and re-drilled to 8-40 threads
Rail Steel bedded
My test target is sloppy, sorry.

The first shot was high so I moved 8 clicks down and shot this 3 shot group. I knew I had a shooter. 3 shots .086"
47 grains H4831

The group with 51 grains measures .066"

Here are the rest of the groups. All were shot with H4831. The conditions were so so.

Wow!

Do you have any idea what your velocity is? I am running the 140 bergers with 49gr H4831 and getting 3033 FPS. Thats out of a 28" Pacnor.

Nice looking gun by the way.

I haven't sent them through a cronograph yet. I will do it this weekend and post my velocities. 3000 fps with 49gr of H4831 is crazy fast!!! I have never heard of anyone getting those velocities with the low of a powder charge

At 52 grains I was not seeing any signs of pressure.

Intresting, Some times i just do not believe my Chronograph. I am getting over 3000 FPS at 48 gr. I will check the velocity at 600 yards to see if the drop table and BC are right.

I might have to try a diffeent chronograph just to check. The nice thing about it, I only have 6 FPS Extreme spread!
