I like the 308 because of it's long barrel life, extreme accuracy and efficiency, short action and mild recoil. It also doubles up as an F-Class rifle. I have only shot one F-Class with it but scored 200/200 without any trouble even with an off and on breeze. I intend to do more F-Class this year. I will be using my 190 load at 2723 FPS. [QUOTE="Michael Eichele, post: 368313, member: 1007"] Below is my favorate hunting rifle. It also happens to be chamberd in my favorate cartridge, 308. Every thing about it is set up for the maximum amount of speed with the maximum amount of accuracy. Lets just say she doesnt dissapoint. I use the 178 AMAX for up to deer size critters and the 200 SGK for large mule deer, Mountain goats, moose, elk and bears. It has taken dall sheep, wolves, caribou, moose, black bear, mule deer, sitka blacktail deer, and coues whitetail deer. A close second favorate is the 338 Edge running 300 grain SMK's. I use that for the larger bears, long range moose and have taken a mt. goat with it. 1: Remington 700 2: Jewel trigger (7oz. typical, 16oz for hunting) 3: Wyatt box magazine 4: 26" 11x Hart fluted sendero taper 5: Ultralight firing pin with heavy spring 6: McMillan HTG stock in desert cammo and utilizes an accesories rail underneath 7: NF one piece 40 MOA base 'bedded' to the action 8: NXS 5.5-22x50mm with MLR reticle and Mil-Rad turrets+ zero stop (she also wears a Mark 4 on occasion) 9: NF UL rings 10: Harris bi-pod She runs 200 SGK's at an astounding 2650 FPS and the 178's at 2753 FPS which I have had them faster but she likes 2753. Those are my goto loads even though I have other loads. The 200 SGK is a solid .5 MOA load and the 178 is a rock solid .35 MOA load.
