It would not suprise me if what Kirby states is true, the banking lobby pumps money into government officials. Goverment officials pump our money into the banking industry. Since they dried that well now there going to get it out of the people without it going thru the government directly. Pass laws so they can rape us and the goverment officials still get their "campaign contributions"
The CC co. have been screwing with the retailers as well, I ditched my contract with my retail credit card people, after they tried braking my contract and raise the rates and fees that they agreed to less than a year ago. 3 contract changes in less than 12 months and they all cost the retailer and benifit the CC co.

Everything I posted came right from listening to CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC and CBS. Everyone of them reported on the exact same things I listed, every one of them and every one said that this bill opened up new options for credit card companies to recover any lost income that would come from these new restrictions and then they listed the following:
Increased user fees
Instant interest on purchases
Dramatic reduction in card benefits
They also reported that most of these would be directed toward those customers that paid their balances in full every month......
I did not make it up, every report I watched on the subject reported the exact same thing.
Ya would think that some of us would start looking through the rose colored glasses and see whats happening behind the scenes. If you think that nothing negative can be hidden in a bill passed by congress then I do not know what to tell you.
As far as those that think that Obama is our savior, you will learn someday that, well your wrong!!!! Those that feel this way will not get a direct response from me simply because I know their comments are only ment to start meaningless personal attach sessions that only take away from the topic at hand.
There was some good attached to the bill, Congrats to Oklahoma for electing someone with a pair!!! We need more of them, on both parties. Democrats can be every bit as conservative as Republicans and thats what we need. Its the liberal nuts that are attempting to destroy this country from the inside out and they are doing a hell of a job at it so far.
Funny thing, even California told the liberals to take it and stick it yesterday, good for the citizens of California.

If the CC co's. start changing interest from date of purchase I wonder how they'd like getting a check put in the mail every evening that I used the card for that amount? How much of a headache would it be for them to process those checks? Especially if they were sent with a delivery notification thru the mail.....
Once I tried to pay more than the balance because I knew that there was a charge that hadn't shown up and they wouldn't let me. (on-line that is) If I start seeing interest charges on the card I'll just go back to using a debit card and keep the CC for travel (renting cars, etc.)

Kirby is correct, and this has been digested at the WSJ and NY times. I pay off my balance every month. My only credit card is an NRA VISA (god the Boulder hippies nearly melt like the wicked witch of the north when the see a picture of an Elk I killed on the front of the card, along with NRA on the back). I will ditch any card that charges me any fees, and simply use a debit card.
How about the NY times? I realize they have been prone to confabulation on occasion, but ...

Its all too true. I was buying some overpriced fleece at REI about a month ago, and the sales person was just staring at my card, I thought her hands were starting to shake. Just as she looked up, I said "every time I use this card, a small portion goes to the NRA, thanks...".
On the other side of the album, I often get people who see the picture on the front and say "is that you?, nice Elk..."

I think it goes deeper than a beef with you. The path this administration and Congress has taken is just sickening!!!! I attend a small church and among our congregation are several military veterans. The other day, I was talking to one of these patriots, who was a P.O.W. in Germany during WWII and also received the Purple Heart for his bravery. This true patriot has seen conditions that most wouldn't have survived, as he himself thought he might not see the shores of the U.S. again on many occasions. This patriot lost friends during the war, but never lost his American Spirit.
To say this true American is sick about the direction this country is being led is a understatement. This is NOT the country he fought and almost died for!!!
Bigger government is not the answer and Socialism is definitely NOT the answer. The current administration is about to try to cram government provided health care down our throats. Just ask any Vet about the quality of care the government provides at their local V. A. These heroes should receive top notch care, but get far from that level of care.
So, what's the answer??? I don't know---but I think a good place to start would be to let each of your Senators and Representatives know where you stand and remind them they are there serving you to make a better REPUBLIC---not a Socialist Nation.

I get rather sick of listening to our current president traveling all over the world "APOLOGIZING" for the things the USA has done over the past decade. Talk about a slap in the face of every living vet and active member of the military, not to mention what it does to the families and memories of those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so that OBAMA would even have a chance to become president and that we get to have the life we enjoy every day.
That is what sickens me as much as anything else he is doing.
We have made mistakes for sure but we have done more good over the past 100 yards in this world then all the other countries combined. It is sad that every leader in every wing of the current government hates the US so deeply.
And for those that do not feel they feel this way, you are not paying attention to what these people are saying. Hell, half the administration has had IRS issues, the speaker of the house is standing by her claim that the CIA flat out lied to congress and the public about water boarding even though there are several confirmed reports that the CIA made it very clear as to what they were doing all along and got a resounding vote of support from both the Rs and Ds in comgress, namely the speaker of the house.
We have a majority leader in the House that has commented in public that "You can tell when summer is here, you can smell the tourists when they come to the capital".........
And, a president that falls all over himself to blame the US for everything that has ever gone bad in the world. He is supposed to save us with his superior mind but unfortunately believes there are 57 states in the USA!!! And without his teleprompter he is a bumbling mess.
Bush was not a public speaker but any means. He may not have been one of the top minds of our time, but he was honest and he believed in what he was doing and would not waver because of public opinion or world opinion. Even if you do not like that you have to respect it to some degree when someone stands alone on nothing but principle.
Hell the current adminstration flip flops as the wind changes direction. First we are going close gitmo, not they say that was a hasty decision, then the pres has to make a press release to make the point he will still close gitmo but then his own party tells him thats a very bad idea and then the pres says they have to study the situtation more. His suits must be starched pretty heavily because its not his spine that allows him to stand.......
If you like the way things are going, great, thats your right. Its also our right to organize and kick these guys out of power if that is what we want, we have the same right so if you don't like that way of thought, go somewhere where your feelings are shared.
If you want an honest debate, so be it, bring facts and not personal attacks and we can have a grown up debate, not a smear contest. The reason most libers do not like debates is because the facts are seldom on their side and they know it.
