Currently residing in Hendertucky until we get the urge to move back home again.

Have used this forum for lots of good info in fine tuning my rifles and personal skills in LR Hunting.

Currently shooting an Accumark 30-378 with an NF 3.5x15 NP-R1 loaded with 200 Accubonds at 3320 fps.

Son's setup is a Tikka T3 270 WSM with a Lupy 4x14.5. Max loads with 140 Accubonds.

Both got elk this year in MT. Mine at 525 yds and his at 200. He's only been hunting 4 days for elk inhis life and bags a 5 point - "that wasn't that hard..." he says.

I'm an Appleseed instructor and a firm believer in the program. Many hunters aren't nearly as good a marksman as they think they are.... I heard many comments this year from guys about the ones that "got away" because they just couldn't hit it. I think many were taking shots outside their capability... Tune them and their rifles up and maybe they'd have different results.

I'll be lurking...

Cheers - Dan

Welcome!

Which part of MT are you displaced from?

My wife and I get to Vegas once a year just to have fun and get out of the cold for a few days. We're flying there this year in Feb but we normally drive. When we have the car, we would normally make it out there to Henderson to go to the Harley shop and hit the Sunset Station (I think) and hit the bigger casinos coming back in on the Boulder highway.

Born and raised in Helena, got an EE degree from Bozeman (go Cats!), and had a business in Butte.

Send me an email when you're headed this way and maybe we can meet and get some killer Mexican food.

Go Cats! My son (and lots of my money) went to MSU. His degree is in Mechanical Engineering. I'll try to send a PM when were headed there in Feb...Mexican sounds really great.

Wife's the daughter of a past 341st maintenance officer at Malstrom. CMR class of '78.

About every other trip we get up to Borie's for a monster steak.... Mmm.

Cool! I'm a retired USAF but still works at Malmstrom and the 341 MXG is one of my functional areas of responsibilities.

My youngest son is also a "Cat"

... Wildcat from the University of Arizona! :)

GO CATS!:D
