Thinking of buying a Remington 700 Varmint in 22-250 from Dick's. They have been as low as 399.00.

Need a good hitter for woodchucks out to 400 yards with a 50 or 55 grain bullet. I know I will need to purchase a quality scope.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks much.

Got one in 223. a mth ago from dicks too. Mine wouldn't shoot worth ****! Reason ended up being the stock/barrel contact. After I free floated it it will do 1/2moa out to 250yards now. My advice would be to put a new stock on though. Im waiting for mine now. Im thinking a good vertical grip is gonna really help my shooting.

I would say to go ahead and buy it. Adjust the trigger up and go to town.

Thanks for the replys. I have heard of some restocking them and I have heard of some being great right out of the box. Most sales are 308 but I don't hear much about the 250.
