This is a custom rifle built by Z-Hat Custom Rifles in Wyoming. I had it done about ten years ago, did some load development, then it got pushed aside as my tastes changed. It was done as a super fast varmint rifle, but we had Christensen carbon wrap the 28" barrel to keep it light (somewhere in the 7-8 pound range, I'd estimate). It was built on a brand new Remington BDL long action, Remington trigger, HS stock with aluminum bedding block, sako extractor installed. I cannot recall the barrel manufacturer, but have photo of barrel stub. Looking back at my notes, it shot almost everything sub moa, mostly in the 3/4" range. My one remaining box of ammo listed a 75 grain V-Max at 3900 fps. I had 8 shells left, so I took the rifle out to the range to get a couple pics. I got it on paper and did two 3 shot groups. I managed to mess up the 3rd shot both times. Don't know if it was mirage, the heavier trigger pull, or just me not shooting well, but both had potential to be one hole groups. Also, I did not know much about precision reloading at the time I set this rifle up. I am sure with better attention to seating depth (never heard of that concept back then), run out (another unknown back then) and such, rifle could really be dialed in to shoot even better. At least I was careful about break-in and keeping it clean, and I estimate round count under 150, so bore should be great. Rifle will come with the steel weaver-style bases. Scope and rings not included. I will include the custom dies, and the +-50 pieces of 280 brass I have fire formed. Get more info here: Hawk Ballistics.

Price is $1995, shipped from non-ffl holder to your ffl (if your ffl does not accept from private individual, I will add cost for me to have dealer ship it). Or, feel free to pick it up in person here in beautiful Montana. Postal money orders only unless we agree otherwise in advance. If you want insurance, I will get quote and add that to final price. Please e-mail me at [email protected] with questions/offers. I am trying to make room in safe, but will look at trades for rifles or optics. E-mail will get faster reply than the PM system here on the forum. Thanks for looking.

Change of plans. I am re-barreling the rifle. Barrel has been professionally removed as of today. I will sell the barrel, dies and brass for $350. I also have a spare Remington long action if anyone needs that, too.
