This is a dangerous game rifle built to be easily carried through thick cover, but would also make a great elk gun. My AK bear hunt didn't materialize, and now I must part with this beautiful weapon.

I have never fired the rifle. $1600.

Details:
Sako L691 action (ultra smooth)
23", 1 in 12", heavy taper Douglas SS barrel (Teflon coated)
Heavy duty recoil lug
SS muzzle brake
McMillan Remington Sporter stock (pillar and glass bedded)
Limbsaver pad
Tuned factory trigger
Milled aluminum bottom metal
Rifle built by Herb's Custom Gun Shop

Also included:
2 full boxes of Federal 225 Trophy Bonded Bear Claw ammunition
30mm, SS scope rings/bases

Thank you for looking!

Re: Sako 340 WBY dangerous game rifle

A 26 or 28 inch barrel will make it a complertely different rifle.

I have a factory MarkV. And braked the barrel,so 24 ish,and have no problem,1/2 doz. elk 500-850 .

Re: Custom Sako 340 WBY

Since the original post I decided to see how this rifle shoots so I did some load development using 225 grain Barnes TTSX bullets and test fired at 100, 500, and 800 yards. 500 yard group was 3" ctc, and 800 yd group was sub MOA.

I will include 20 pieces of loaded ammo in the load described above along with validated drop info if interested. As I recall the actual impact drops indicate that the G1 BC on these bullets is higher than what Barnes indicates.

Thanks,
Chandler
