I have decided to add a new rifle to the arsenal. I want to build a .308 but I have a budget off about $1000 for the rifle, what would you guys suggest to buy? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

A Stevens 200 in .308W, Rifle Basix trigger and Leupold Vari II scope. That will pull up your $1K.

Howa 308. 400$ Manners stock about 500 and have the trigger tuned when you get the stock work done.

I have done some more research and was wondering what your guys opinion was on the savage model 11 long range?

That is probably the best option out there. Savage rifles out of the box are likely the most accurate on the market.

+1 for the 5R if your $1000 budget is strictly for the rifle and not rifle and optic.
