Cow elk hunt in 7 west flagstaff Az

I have a cow hunt in 7w and have never hunted that area. Any advice to where I should start scouting? My hunt starts Oct. 18th.

JR, I have a friend who hunts cow in that area with his friends every year. They always fill their tags. I'll ask him for info for you.
