I may still be a year away from drawing, but I would appreciate any info from guys that have hunted the early rifle above timberline hunts. I am applying for the Sangre's units (82/86), I haven't been up there that time of year, just a few times in July hiking. Is there anything you guys are looking for in particular in an area that'll hold deer? How about camping up there, are you setting up camp at tree line and hiking up in the dark to glass? And lastly, how's the winter in that area, I know it's a little early to try and predict how the deer are fairing, I'd hate to waste 10 points on a winterkill area. Thanks for any help.
