Changing the battery on NSX

Has anyone changed their battery on the NSX scopes? Battery is supposed to last 720 hours of operation and while that may be true I somehow left the turrent pulled out and the illumination on for god knows how long. It's dead as a door nail. I read the manual that came with the scope and it says to turn counter clockwise on the turrent to unscrew the cap. I tried turning it while holding the turrent and it didn't budge. I could rotate the turrent all the way cc and keep turning but I dont wanna bust anything. Any advice? I need a new battery before I go hunting.
