My federal match primers have ran out large rifle .
All I can get is CCI large rifle .

My question is how much should I back down my loads
308 178 Amax with 43.2 grains of RL15

Thanks

According to my Hornady 7th edition loading manual you are already way over the max load. They state 41.4 grs RL15 as the max load for a 308 Winchester with the 178 to 180 gr bullets. I would back off quite a bit.

The Federal's are a touch hotter than the CCI's. Not much risk just running your pet load with the new primer. I also agree with RT2506, you're on the upper end. If you feel the need to back down go down a half grain and work back up to your node.

With H4350 I have the CCI200's being .3 grains cooler for the same velocity. For example 42.5 grains with a Fed 210M is the same as 42.8 grains with a CCI 200.
