Just picked up a abolt 7mag and i am looking to put a set of talley lightweights on it. Question is would low rings work on this rifle with a 50mm obj lens? I have a tikka with low talleys and a zeiss conquest 4.5-14X50 and the obj lens clears but not by much so im not sure if the barrel contour on the browning would be any different.

(Rail Height + Ring Height) - (Bell Obj Diameter x .5)

For instance... I have a 20 MOA rail on my Custom .308.

Using calipers..the height of my rail off the CL of the barrel is 10mm.

My rings are NF Ultralites measuring in at 1 inch, or 25.4mm to CL.

My scope is an ATACR with a 56mm OBJ, with the outside of the obj measuring 65mm

So...

(10mm+ 25.4mm) - (65mm x.5)

35.4mm-32.5mm

Total clearance= 2.9mm

Mo, e-mail your question to Talley and get a prompt and correct answer. Be sure to allow for scope caps if you use them. Good luck

Thanks for all the responses guys. I have deceided to go with a 3.5-10x44 conquest instead and went ahead and ordered the low talleys so i doubt at this point i'll run into any issues with clearance.
