Browning 78 trigger adjustment

I purchased a Browning 78 6mm remington. Someone has played with the trigger adjustment and the gun will no nlonger go to the half cocked safety position.I can't seem to adjust it to where it should be to engage the half cocked position. Any help would be appreciated. Called Browning and theyreferred me to Midway Gunworks. They wanted me to send the gun to them.I'm sure with some guidance I could do it myself.
