WOW! Now that is one rough barrel! You might need to call Guinness on this one. It might be a record--even for Remington's crappy quality control.

I just finished the cleaning. Yepp, that´s the time it took this time...
Actually, this bore is MUCH nicer then the one on my Rem LTR in .223 ;-)
I guess I have bad luck when it comes to Remington barrels...
Im considering a Tubbs Final Finish kit, since im short of money im asking; If some one have one lying and not plan to use it, send me a message, I might buy it from you.

Just to follow up on some previous posts, When I heard certain people throwing Mike Rock's name around I went ahead and shot him off an e-mail asking what his recommended procedure for break-in was. In response he just forwarded me a message that he had just sent off to one of his customers who had a break-in question on a .25cal barrel he had bought.
"I have gotten back to just shoot two or three rounds, then clean with
either Sweets or Sweets followed by a little Hoppes or some other good
cleaner. NOT SHOOTERS CHOICE>>>>>>>>>>>> !!
When you patch after the Sweets comes clean, you are done. Some barrels
start shooting clean right away, like after five rounds. Actually, a
lot of them do this. Others, well, it takes five or ten times through
the shoot/clean wringer. After the first two or three times, you can
start firing ten round or five round groups. The first two or three
shot ones are for getting boresighted and centered up on the target.
Might as well do something useful when you are dumping good ammo downrange.
Rarely, very rarely, it takes up to fifty rounds..... Don't despair, it
doesn't happen often. When they do start shooting clean, it will amaze
you, they can then go forty or more rounds and clean with one wet patch
and a few dry ones. Then life is good!
Let me know how things work out for YOU. With the .25's, some people
shoot for the highest velocity they can get, right away.......don't do
that please. Start out with middle of the road velocities when breaking
in and you will extend your barrel life a LOT. I can't give you life
expectations on the .25's, but the .30's run into the ten thousand round
area all the time. I can't tell you why, as I don't know, but we get
reports all the time of up to and beyond ten thousand before half a
minute of angle is exceeded. Your mileage will vary.....

So apparently the cited expert opinion here also recommends proper barrel break in. Imagine that! Just an old scientific habit, when someone starts claiming expert sources, check em' out if what they're claiming sounds stupid. At least half the time the person claiming expert sources is just plain lying.
