Boyd's laminated stocks

Are Boyd's laminated gun stocks good quality stocks?

Boyd's aren't a bad stock. I've used several and the biggest problems have been a poor finish and fit of recoil pad. For the price though, I can buy and strip a Boyd's stock and install a better recoil pad cheaper than I can starting with just a blank.
