Do your 300RUMs like the bullets at or just away from the lands? I am about to start working back away from the lands to determine any accuracy gain/loss,..and wondered if either of you have already done this and seen a definitive difference? I know all rifles are different,..but if you both have found the same thing,..

I am using MK 200gr right now,...and have not tried the 215 carts or 216 Clinch river yet. I also have 220gr MK and a 10 twist tube.

any recommendations?

Hello Just-C

Some of my rifles shoot better up to .055" off the lands and some touching the lands.
The Tomahawk (300 RUM IMP) is .010" off the lands using the 240 Gr bullet.

I would start off the lands and working closer through actual fire tests.

Thank you Darryl.

what would you use as a base-line for this process when working a load,.....i.e. how far out do you start as a general rule,..and work in?

.060",...050",...040" etc ? do you move by .010" or .005" increments?

also,..as per your recommendation of FL sizing,..do you set the die up to NOT bump the shoulder, and therefore maintain a constant headspace that way?

thanks again.
