Boss Man Dongle Bird

    Just finished assembly of my DIY quick draw photo setup using a Blackberry, Nikon XL-II spotting scope, vanguard tripod and a self machined (out of MDF) adapter.

    This is to be a quick and dirty set up rather than have to go through all the hassle of setting up and tending the Cannon 7D with the 120-400 Sigma.

    Here's the first decent pic taken at about 100 feet @ 16X of one of the local Gambel's Quail.

    Cool Roy. Why do you call a quail a ''dongle bird''? Something to do with the tassle?

    The kids when they were younger came up with that moniker.

    The kids had no idea of what kind of bird they were so that's the name they call them.

    Yep, the tassel is the key feature.

    Definitely not a pastie!

    Thats cute. My sister used to call Blue Jay's ''Boo-Shickens (Blue-Chickens)" when she was little:D So the name stuck in our family.

    That's funny, we still eat camel eggs on occasion round my house cuz of my oldest sister.
