I'm all ears...
Just about every 22-250 I have seen will shoot either varget or h380.
Ramshot Big Game works great too!!
+1 for Varget
If you can get it I would say CFE223, I haven't seen it in Havre yet so I'm using Biggame with very good results.
Thanks guys.... much appreciated!
Joe, I thought I read in another thread you were shooting the 53 VMax's in a 14 twist barrel. If true, are they stabilizing OK?
Used to shoot the 55g V-Maxs in a 1-14 twist without problem.
Yeah, but the 53's are a boat and a little longer I think...
yea I'm getting 1inch groups at 300yrds. I'm still surprised they stabilize but I'm not about to argue with it either.
Well since I've got a 14 twist, I wont argue with it either
I should mention though that I firmly believe it is due to my GS's skill
As far as powder selection, I went XMR8208. it is also a great powder for the 308, or anything with a medium size case that burns relatively fast burning powder. It burns clean, and I've gotten the best SD, ES so far with it. Try it , you'll like it!
I have a nice load using cfe223. 38.5grs, f210m, rem brass, will produce .115-.250 groups at 100 yards off of a Caldwell front rest and that rear bag.
Thanks again for the help guys. Just ordered some Varget. Might try some of the other powders if they get them in locally.
Any starting weights for Varget and the 53's?
