Barrel Heating from the Sun

Anyone done any studies/experience with barrel heating due to exposure to the sun.

On a good summer day around here if a wrench is left out in the open gloves must be worn to use the dang thing (and they are metal colored).

I know that green is the best absorber of heat from solar studies. Black can't be far behind.

Between BR relays I always kept the rifle in the shade.

Was just thinkin' that I hane never really tho't about it, till now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
