I am looking for info on a barrel maker to make a barrel chamber in 6.5x06 for my savage 110. Any help and sugestions are apprieciated. Also looking to stay on budget, so price matters but i still need quality. I understand that you don't get the best barrel in the world cheap, so I am looking to take coyotes out to 600yards. thanks

Unless you're handy enough & have to equipment & tools to install a barrel there goes the budget.
If you want to get into a Krieger, Shilen or Douglas barrel then it gets even grimmer.
You won't be the first dedicated shooter who faced the choice the gun or my marriage. :)

savage barrel change tools
barrel nut wrench $41
action wrench $55
go gauge $24

some people use a barrel vise instead of a action wrench cost is about the same

a piece of tap on the back of the go gauge acts as a no go gauge

forgot one tool a big hammer factory barrel are pain

That is true on any DIY projects.

Check out savage-barrels.com . They work with McGowen. They are a good barrel. Shilen or CBI from Northland at savageshooters.com might be a touch better in some people's opinon but you'll get a good barrel either way. If I remember right the gunshack stuff may be a barrel by Shaw. I wouldn't go that route unless you want something just slightly better than factory. Good luck.
