NOT long range but...
Took a nice 10 point at 200 yards with 180gr ttsx 58.5 gr Benchmark at 2980fps MV this morning.
I only have public hunting land to hunt in Indiana so short range bone shots were a possibility.
The cartridge is. 358 grant 1.8" ,Indiana legal.
He was quartering away from me chasing 3 does that weren't havin anything to do with him. He had a one inch exit hole and no meat damage.
He ran about 30 yards and expired in a creek, at least I had water to wash my hands an knife off with.

That's a beautiful buck with a great rack! And Sweet little cartridge with a big punch. That should take down anything in north America.

Thanks.
The ballistic should approximate 30.06 with 180gr out to 350 yards or so.
Next season I might try a sleeker bullet like 200gr Accubond, we'll see.

Very neat little cartridge, I can't say I've heard of that one... I'm happy to see it working out for you. How's the recoil? Being on the lighter bullets weight side, that should make a dern handy brush rifle cartridge.

The recoil is about like a 30.06 with a 180gr bullet. The rifle weighs just over 10 lb. scoped and loaded. Im using just under 58.5 gr of Hodgdon Benchmark at just under 3000 fps so its a sharp impulse recoil.

I believe your right about it being a great brush gun and load, those Barnes solid bullets most certainly will push through small brush much better than a cup and core bullet. If it ever came down to that kind of shot scenario.
